Used Mercedes-AMG M177 4.0 V8 biturbo engine from a 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 W205, with approx. 90,000 km on the donor car. This block is used in both the C63 and the C63 S of the W205 series. The engine comes straight from our workshop in Merchtem, where it was removed by Mercedes specialist XCS Automotive.

Mercedes-AMG C63 W205 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S W205. In parts catalogues the engine of the C63 and C63 S W205 is listed as engine type M 177.980. The M177 is also used in other AMG models. Always compare the block number and let us check your chassis number (VIN), then we will confirm whether the engine fits your car.

Facts about the M177

• The M177 is the Mercedes-AMG 4.0 litre V8 biturbo (3,982 cc) that the W205 series C63 was launched with in 2014.
• The two turbochargers are not mounted on the outside but between the cylinder banks. Mercedes-AMG calls this the "hot inside V": more compact, with better response and lower emissions.
• In the C63 the M177 delivers 476 hp and 650 Nm, in the C63 S 510 hp and 700 Nm.
• The M177 is closely related to the M178 from the Mercedes-AMG GT. According to Mercedes-AMG, that M178 weighs 209 kg dry.
• AMG V8 engines are hand built in Affalterbach following the "One man, one engine" principle: one engine builder assembles the complete engine and fits it with a plaque bearing his signature.
